Announcing the "NO DURL" ENDURO
Darryl Vance, aka Durl, has been throwing an October Enduro Race at Eddie's in Vallejo for years. Unfortunately, Durl is just too busy with work this year to do it (maybe next year). Rather than scrub a great event from the race calendar Eddie is hosting the "No Durl Enduro" on October 9, 2011, at 2 PM. By the way, Durl is planning to participate.
Where: Eddie's Slot Car World is located at 1021 Tennessee Street, Vallejo, CA, 94590. Phone is (707) 552-9085.
When: Sunday, October 9, 2011, at 2 PM.
How much: $15 entry fee.
OK, here we go...
The "No Durl Enduro" will run GT2 bodies on the blue King. Just in case no one recognizes GT2 it is production based cars from ALM. These are mostly sports cars such as Corvette, Aston Martin, Saleen, Ferrari 575, Lamborghini, Porsche, BMW, etc. JK makes most of the bodies but O/S and others do as well (interestingly enough, a few of the races at Eddie's today dug through their boxes today and found cars/bodies that be fine). Any body of one of these production-based cars is acceptable. Others may be acceptable as well but clear through Eddie first.
Any 4-inch Flexi chassis with 16D motor (NASCAR) is acceptable as long as it has a minimum of 0.06" clearance under the rear axle.
You may run as a team or as an individual. Each heat will be 10 minutes long.
Call the track for any additional details.
PS: I tested one of the bodies today and times are going to be in line with NASCAR times on the blue King.
PPS: Some S16Ds may be allowed to run if they are sealed and/or use a Chinese armature. Talk to Eddie is advance to make sure your motor is legal for this race.
