SLOT RACING REVIVAL

OCTOBER 7, 2012

Three-hour Enduro race at Slot Racing Revival on October 7!!!

Hey, everybody! So we've been trying to put together any type of Enduro to run for the past month or so, and it seems that we have FINALLY managed to get everything together. This coming Sunday, the 7th of October, we will be running a three-hour Iron Man Enduro!!! So here's how it's gonna go!

The rules for this race (as far as what car you can use, motor etc) are the same as our Saturday Crash & Burn. For those of you who don't remember (or need a refresher) I have them posted below.

Slot Racing Revival Saturday Night NASCAR Rules APPLY

Crash & Burn Series 2012

Chassis:

1. Stamped steel, 4" wheelbase "Flexi car" type chassis.
2. Bracing of rear axle uprights is allowed.
3. Soldering or gluing of rear axle bushings and front axle into the chassis is allowed.
4. May add pin tubes in place of body clips.
5. Excluded are any chassis with open motor boxes, example: JK Cheetah 11.

Motor:

1. Parma #501 Deathstar sealed motor.
2. Seal must be intact, absolutely NO modification allowed.
3. Brushes and springs can be replaced but must be original type.
4. Can bushing may be soldered in.
5. At the race director's discretion, newcomers may be allowed to run older versions of the 16D motors provided they prove to not give faster straightaway speeds than the 501 motors. Examples are motors with white or pink endbells.

Gears:

1. 48 or 64 pitch, any ratio, any gears.
2. Spur gear must maintain 1/16" track clearance.

Axles:

1. 1/8" or 3/32" rear solid steel axle.
2. 1/16" front axle.

Wheels/Tires:

1. 1/2" or 5/8" front wheels, must have O-ring installed.
2. Any commercially-available rear tires made of black rubber.
3. NO silicone coatings.

Body:

1. Any commercially available 4" wheelbase NASCAR body.
2. Body cannot be "slammed".
3. Body cannot have an excessively high rear spoiler molded in.
4. Bodies will be judged on a case-by-case basis if anything out of the norm is entered.
5. Bodies must have 1/16" minimum front bumper/valance.
6. Front wheel openings must be clear or cut out to show front wheels.
7. Interiors not required. Although it is not mandatory, it is encouraged to make the cars look like NASCAR type cars. Minimum three numbers required (roof and both doors).

Clearance/Width:

1. Clearance shall be a minimum of 1/16" (.063") under the entire car including the spur gear as measured on a flat tech block.
2. Width shall be no more than 3-1/4".
3. Wheels may not be offset relative to chassis.

Tech points:

1. Clearance
2. Width
3. Motor
4. Front wheel O-rings
5. Body
6. If it's not mentioned, it's not legal!

Some other things worth mentioning:

1) During the race, track calls will be kept to a minimum, only to prevent the worst cases that would cause car damage.
2) Each heat will be 15 minutes. We will be running the race similar to a 3x2.
3) NO work will be allowed on cars, only stickers and oil and braid maintenance will be permitted.
4) Plaques will be given to the podium placers

A pit pass for the Enduro will be $30.00. This includes food and store credit for one set of tires of your choice. Tires can be used for tech or the mandatory tire change half way through the race. We will be having Caesar salad, garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, baked manicotti, and baked stuffed shells catered by Frank's Pizza in Blairstown, NJ.

We will be opening the door at 9 AM. The track will be turned on at 10 AM for practice. Tech and lunch will be at 11 AM, with the race starting shortly after, hopefully at 11:30 AM.

Please let either John "VW" Streisguth or Troy Taylor know if you are interested. It's looking to be an awesome race, I hope to see you all there!!!

This has been Blondie reporting for Troy Taylor...
