Slotblog's Terms of Use

Number one rule at Slotblog: your real name must be visible, either as your display name or in your Slotblog signature. No exceptions so please don't ask!

If this is a policy you cannot abide, please do not register for this board.

If you register using a "handle" (as opposed to using your actual first and last names as your Slotblog display name) -

Then you MUST place your REAL NAME (at least first and last names) in your Slotblog "signature" so that it appears below each message you post.

If you elect not to place your real name as your display name or in your signature, any posts you make will not appear on the board until they are approved by a moderator and you will not have the ability to send or receive Private Messages (PMs). Your posts will not be approved nor will PM privileges be granted until your signature is amended to comply with this Slotblog policy. Additionally, you will not be able to view uploaded images, use search, view who is online, see the member list, etc., until your real name is visible.

IF YOUR REAL NAME IS NOT ENTERED AS YOUR SLOTBLOG DISPLAY NAME DURING REGISTRATION, YOU MUST ADD YOUR REAL NAME TO YOUR SLOTBLOG SIGNATURE AFTER REGISTERING TO BE ABLE TO POST OR PM!!

The signature text box is found in your Slotblog profile. To update your signature, click on the downward-facing arrow after your display name in the upper RH corner of the home page, and select "My Settings" from the drop-down menu. Next click on the word “Signature" in the LH navigation menu. This will take you to the signature text box. After adding your name to your signature, make sure to click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the text box. If you need assistance in editing your signature, please email admin@slotblog.net. Also, after you have updated your signature you must email admin@slotblog.net to request that full permissions be granted.

Please note that Slotblog does not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any message, and is not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages posted on Slotblog express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this bulletin board. Any user who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to contact an admin or moderator immediately by email or PM.

Please note that any and all complaints or concerns regarding the policies or moderation of Slotblog are NOT to be posted to the forums, but rather are ONLY to be privately communicated to the admins or moderators (via either PM or direct email).

You agree not to post any copyrighted material on Slotblog unless the copyright is owned by you or by this bulletin board.

Any and all subjects on the various forums (except in the "Freeblog" forum, where almost any subject except pornography or spam can be addressed at the discretion of the moderators) MUST refer to our hobby: that of playing with miniature electric cars, model cars, radio-control cars, and/or other forms of miniature and full-size automotive enjoyment.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this bulletin board to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law.

You agree to conduct only "civil discourse" on Slotblog. Disagreement is expected as a by-product of discussion, but personal attacks will not be tolerated. It's acceptable to tell someone they're wrong, but don't call them "*#%$^#& stupid" or a "&#%$)@! idiot."

While we encourage free discussion, ALL postings on Slotblog are subject to editing or removal by the moderation team. Slotblog is a privately-funded website, and as such, "freedom of the speech" as guaranteed in the US Constitution is not applicable.

Members using the Slotblog PM system to threaten, insult, intimidate, or otherwise harass other forum members will have their PM privileges suspended and/or will be permanently banned from Slotblog!

The rest of the rules at Slotblog are mostly common sense which, unfortunately, isn't quite as common as it ought to be. If you have any doubts as to what is appropriate to post on Slotblog, ask a moderator BEFORE making the post!
