OK... some important stuff for our next race.

Due to extremely high transaction costs, Eddie has decided to no longer accept credit or debit cards. Make sure to stop at an ATM on the way to the track.

  • Eddie will open at 10:00 AM on Sunday. Let's work to move quickly through the program as we did last race at FTH.
  • Saturday will be a USRA race and so the King will be cleaned immediately after they are done. Expect high bite on Sunday.
  • As a reminder, all races will be on the King with F1 leading off at noon. Then Can-Am and Pro Coupe.

I will be on vacation From Aug 1st until the 16th so I doubt I'll get down to test. Here is my best guess as to how I'll set up my cars.
  • F1: 105 grams. Narrow treated tires, gear the S-7 at 9/29. Lancer Matra or Ferrari
  • Can-Am: 116 grams. Treated tires full width. TSR at 9/29. O/S Ti22 or TS Lola T160
  • Pro Coupe: 110 grams. Untreated tires, Big Dog at 8/42. O/S Lola coupe or JK Lola coupe.

Hope you had a great vacation,
I have a couple of F1 questions. 1st I thought 9/27 was the gear for the Blue King? I bought motor # 4 How are you breaking them in ?I got 15mins at 5 volts, are you washing them out with Naphtha or motor cleaner? Are you running them open or with the gear and axle?
Looking forward to seeing Eddie and Janet, looks like I am riding down with Randy and Yendor again.
Have fun
Richard

The break in you are doing sounds about right. I flush with motor spray and re-oil after that. The gearing thing seems to be relative to the individual motor in all classes. I ran a bit @ Eddies on Wednesday and some F-1s were a little faster in lap times with 9-27 vs. 9-29. The same thing is true with Can Ams and TSR/Falcon motors. Sometimes they are faster with 9-29, other motors with 8-26 or 27. In general, if the lap times are within 0.10 (1 tenth) I'll choose the lower gearing as I think they are always easier to drive that way. I suspect that the track will have strong bite and that usually suggests lower gearing too. Still, my fastest Can Am is carrying 9-29 and at least one F-1 has a 9-27.

Depends.
