It's time for celebration here in the desert... Our "cool" season is coming! (Well, it WAS just under 100 today!) So to celebrate we will break out our finest winter wear (usually a light jacket) and once again meet at Brian's garage on Saturday, Oct 13, for the final round of the AZGR Summer Series. Brian and I will have the track on and testing and tuning can start at 9 AM.

Racing Events will include:

Late model Scalextrics NASCARs at 12v (boxstock except for IndyGrip new compound tires) A and B classes
(Separate B race may be run at 10v)

Carrera Stockcars at 12v (boxstock except wheels and stock tire may be trued and sanded, rear magnet may be lowered but must not touch track. Hand-out bar magnet inserted in front magnet pocket.)

Open Heavy Magnet at 12v. Any plastic chassis slot car, any mod.

Non-Magnet Plastic at 10v. Any plastic chassis slot car, no magnets.

Throw Down the Gauntlet Races. If you got something you like to race and want to run it call out a challenge!!!

Here's mine!
1/24 Hardbody Challenge (any chassis, any hard plastic body, any motor, silicone tires, any magnet).
One 5-minute heat on white lane, most laps wins! (Check out my contender in the TSRF Customers Forum titled "Hubba hubba hubba")

At our September race Al and Mark brought along a gentleman named Wally who raced rail and early slot cars in the Fifties. We had a great time talking with Wally and explaining to him how the computer manages the racing, he loved that. Unfortunately Wally didn't feel comfortable racing because of his failing eyesight but you could tell he had a great time and we very much enjoyed having him there. I hope he can come again!

As always we will order pizza ($5 donation please) and have plenty of armchair racing and parts swapping.

Call Dave Deuble for directions, 602-397-8812.

I'm getting excited about the non-magnet 1/32 race! Brian Gibbens is gunning with a Slot-it 312PB...
I hope he has the stones to run with my Fly Classic Ferrari 512S....

Well, as Dayble has said, I am gunning to run down a 512s but it will not be a 312PB, I have been doing some in-home comp and my Fly Classic Chevron will be the racer in this event.

I am also bringing a custom paint Carrera Dodge stocker. I will be trying these cars out tonight on the racetrack. I can't wait to get there and do some real runs on the wood track vs my plastic track. It should be interesting. SEE you then!!!!!:D
