American blue King track for sale in northeast Ohio. Dual 80 amp power supplies, new epoxy surface last year, all new wiring last year, new braid last year, but the entire track was braided in about four sections so the braid will need pulled up or cut with track sections. All wiring was done with ring terminals so it will come apart and go back together easily. Extra legs were made when I put together so every section has at least three legs for easy set up and assembly. LapMaster timing and laptop computer comes with it, along with two TVs for displays.

I can help take apart the track, and I have a forklift to load the sections.

$5,000.

Great price for such a great track. Would make a fantastic start to a raceway.

Ooohhhh... does it still have the 3-1/2" slot centers?

Phil,

Unless I'm confused, American Raceway tracks had 4" lane spacing.

I have a friend who says he has an AMR six-ane orange that is 3-1/2 inch between slots. It was supposed to have been the first commercial track in Minneapolis. I've seen pics of it and he does have it in storage, but I haven't seen a ruler on the slots.

I've been reluctant to ever mention it on the blog.

Who knows?

I wouldn't stake my life that there isn't such a thing. LOL

My 4" reference was obviously for the majority of tracks, and in particular, the blue King.

Yes, my King track has 4 inch lane spacing. 3-1/2" sounds like it would be fun for an oval or something though!

I honestly don’t know too much about it. It came from Rt 93 raceway. I’ve only had it for a couple of years.

This track was at Rt 93 in Akron, OH. Current owner set track up at Speed Gate Raceway In Warren, OH, within the last year and a half.

Gerding did refurb when track was at Rt 93. The track was in storage prior to current owner.

You are exactly right! Thanks for the help, you probably know a lot more about the track than I do. I haven't owned it very long. My number one concern is that the track goes to a good home.

I have raced on that track. IMO, it is more Gerding than AMCR. Biggest change is the drivers panel has been moved one track section toward the bank, IIRC. Sight lines are very different than on a standard AMCR King. Still, it's very smooth and fast.

What's the footprint required for a King track?

It’s 60 feet long, and I think the width is 24 feet at the widest point.

Are you sure it's not approx. 50 feet long?

60 feet does not seem possible.

A King track is 20' x 50', or 1,000 square feet, one of the reasons there aren't too many of them left.

I don't think it's only 20 feet wide.

I built my King to mimic the shape of an American, and it's more like 24 feet wide, like stated in post #18.

Unless I'm confused, American Raceway tracks had 4" lane spacing.

I can be corrected... and it looks like I was wrong... it's been so long since I've thought about the center distance spacing of AMR tracks.

None the less, I preferred the narrow spacing.
