Race #7 is in the books. We had another good turnout having fairly good weather this month. We had 19 racers in Can-Am and 18 racers in F1. We started with Can-Am at about 10:30am after morning practice and tech. After Can-Am was concluded, we had an hour break for F1 practice and lunch.
I want to make a shoutout to Marc Picione who got his first podium finish in the F1 A main. Great job, Marc. Congrats.
Can-Am: in qualifying, Jason Dennis led the way over Greg Fox and Rick jr. with a fast lap of 3.944sec. These 3 all recorded sub 4 second laps.
With 19 racers, we decided to run 3 mains of 7, 6, and 6.
In the A main, Jason Dennis dropped out due to a hand cramp issue while Greg Fox and Rick jr. diced it out throughout the A main for the overall victory. Greg won by 8 sections or about 1/3 lap. Jeremy Dennis had a good race finishing 3rd.
The B main was going to be a close race with the 6 racers spread by only 0.02 seconds. Doc Dougherty prevailed over the other very determined racers to win by 3 laps over Marc Picione and Ken Kanyok.
In the C main, Greg Miller drove a good race to win by 5 laps over Rick sr. and Dennis Dominey. Dennis and Rick were separated by only 1 track section.
