Fellas,

With the recent closing of one of, if not THE most celebrated slot car raceways in the country, Buzz-A-Rama, we will pay homage to the facility as well as the owners.

Buzzy and Delores Perri were well known throughout the slot car community for decades. Their passing will leave a void that will be felt far and wide for years to come.

Over the years many stories have been told about the stash of slot car goodies lying in wait in the basement of Buzz-A-Rama, some true some not. With the closing of the track and the unleashing of thousands of cars, parts and memorabilia from the famed facility we will start what I hope to be an everlasting tribute not only to the track and the owners but to the history of slot car racing in general !

We invite any and all folks who have a Buzz-A-Rama story, slot car, slot car parts and memorabilia to post photos ON THIS THREAD.

We will title the thread "Buzzy's Basement Beauties"...

All I ask is that this thread not be used for selling, buying or trading, there are other threads and topics here on Slotblog for that purpose. Thank you!

PS: Not my photos.

Hi Pete,

Great idea!  You know I picked up some good parts, and I am working on getting a few cars built.  Here are the parts that will make these cars:

It is a work in progress, and I hope to debut the cars at a later date this year.

See you on the 7th!

Mikey

My first project of a slot car recovered from Buzzy's basement.
A Patra vulture body and the chassis kit I used was missing one wheel and I had one other complete kit so I figured why not. It was competition models a company that later became patra. Still need to cut the rear tires down some more and of course a paint job.IMG_20220227_103746__01.jpg

Joseph Migliaccio. Karma it's a wonderful thing.

"Drive it like you're in it!!!"

"If everything feels under control... you are not going fast enough!"

Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Rand Armature Balancer.

"Team Cukras" braided shunt wires. Will these make my cars go faster?

Old brass chassis car with NCC20 mura motor in it. (1 of several such finds)

So many other things.... but I wasn't LOOKING for anything in particular, mostly motor parts, brushes/springs/hardware.....

Alleged amateur racer.
Mostly just play with lots of cars.
Able to maintain slot cars with a single bound.
Faster than a speeding Womp.
More powerful than a 36D.

Mike, I've had a Rand Armature Balancer & their gear puller since 1967. Both still work fine. Thanks for showing us your haul.
