The 2022 SCRRA John Cukras/ Pete Zimmerman "Festival of Speed", is coming up next month and will be held on the 22-24 of April at Piranha Speedway and will feature 4 Retro races.

On Friday, April 22, Retro Pro on the King track will be the only race of the day with tech inspection beginning at about 6PM.

Saturday, April 23 will have 2 races. First race in the morning will be Retro Anglewinder Coupe on the tricky Piranha Flat track with tech beginning at about 9;30 AM. The 2nd race will be F1 on the King track and tech will start approximately 1 hour after the end of the Coupe race.

Sunday, April 24 will be Can Am on the King track with tech inspection beginning at 10 AM.

The new motors we've been testing, the Chicagoland CR102 and the Mid America Eagle Retro will both be allowed for this race, HOWEVER, they will only be legal on the KING track in the F1 and Can Am events. Presently and until further notice the SCRRA will continue to keep the legal motors as they are on the Flat track.

More details to follow on this event shortly.......

In the "Festival of Speed" action today, an awesome run by Bill Vanderziel had him atop the podium in a great Retro Coupe race with Bryan Warmack 2nd and Jeremy Marquette 3rd. Great drive by Bill who now drives left handed following neck surgery about a year ago. Congrats Bill!

In F1, Duran Trujillo ran to a comfortable win with Jim Lange 2nd and Bryan Warmack 3rd.

In last nights Retro Pro race, Jerry Johnson took the victory with Jim Lange 2nd and Rick Dodge 3rd.

       Can Am tomorrow.........

In Can Am today, a super race that saw TQ Jeremy Marquette run wire to wire to the victory but was pressured the entire race by Duran Trujillo who ended up just a couple turns behind as the power went off!   Sam Rackham 3rd and Jim Lange 4th.

Full report with pics on all the races up shortly....
