Chris, Port Jeff Raceway moved to Farmingville, NY. There's also Slots-A-Lot in Franklin Square.
Hi, Bill!
I went to the Port Jeff Raceway in Farmingville, and that's why I wrote this question. I thought it was the same raceway as the one that used to be in Port Jeff, but it's not! I had a nice talk with the owner. These guys used to be in Coram, and only have the "flying wedges" racetracks (I hate those). As you probably know, the cars I have won't run on those tracks. Funny thing is, they sell the Scalextric cars there. You'd think they'd have a track for them.
The guys that were in the Village (Port Jeff) have disappeared. They used to have a Scalextric track in the back where I would race my cars. They were nice guys. I wish I knew what happened to them.
Franklin Square is about an hour away from me, and I can't travel that far.
I tried to convince my wife that WE should open up a Vintage Slot Car Raceway, but she doesn't think it would be lucritive.
Thanks for trying to help. My hunt continues!

That place in Port Jeff was nice I wonder what happend.
"Drive it like you're in it!!!"
"If everything feels under control... you are not going fast enough!"
Some people are like Slinkies... they're really good for nothing... but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Too true! I have the money, I just don't have the room. Maybe I should build another shed...

Is there a slot car track in Long Island that I can race my 1/32nd and 1/24 scale stock cars (Carrera, Scalextric, Autoart, etc.) in Suffolk County, Long Island? Since they closed the one in Port Jefferson, there is no place to go. If I had enough room, I'd build my own track, but as it is, I really want to be able to race these cars with my family.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Chris
Chris are you still looking ?
You might want to go underground and find some others in Suffolk that have club racing.
A starting point might be a slot car show at the Huntington hilton .
The next one is April 19th . They are 70% HO and 25% 1/32nd scale and 5% 1/24 scale.
I'm sure you could talk to the people involved with the 32nd scale stuff and find were they race in Suffolk.

Joe,
Thanks! I just went to the one in Melville and asked around, but no one knows of any tracks close to me. There is one in Nassau, in Hempstead I think, but that is way too far for me to travel.
I might check out the one in April, too. Thanks again for letting me know. I'm looking for the Carrera Goldfinger 1/32 set as a starting point for me, so maybe I'll find one there!
