I always liked this car from the 'Bewitched' TV show when Endora gave Darrin this car. This design is a true thingie design custom show car.

The design would make a great slot car body. It was even painted like a slot car with a gold fog faded to green on the bottom.

Kind of reminds me of a Garvic Sonic Needle and a Classic Stinger.

OK, who wants to make one?

Gene Winfield is still alive and kicking at almost 95 years old. I saw him just last summer at a car show.

Wow , what a history lesson about this car , with that much exposure in Hollywood , I am surprised Revell, AMT , or Monogram didn’t pick this car to be manufacturer into a nice model kit or better yet a slot car . The design still stands the test of time .

Best Regards,

Don

This car also made an extensive appearance in the video "As Long as We're Together" by the Lemon Twigs, from about 2017. You can see the car driving, and see the bubble top opening near the end. The door opening sound effect might be dubbed in, not sure. Looks like the car got quite dusty in the video.

I meant roof opening sound, not door opening.

Interesting bit of trivia. I'm a Vice President in the Pharoahs car club. Formed in Modesto CA in 1948 and one of the oldest car clubs in the country. The very first Vice President was Gene Winfield. In those days it was called the Century Toppers Car Club which is now the motorcycle division of the Pharoahs. Current President is Wyatt Bowman and we have around 6 or 7 Vice Presidents scattered around the country. I'm an Eastern Region VP based in Tennessee. We have 110 chapters worldwide. Here is our President with Gene taken last year.

I could not watch it long enough to see the bubble top open.

About 30 seconds in, I turned it off.
