Can anyone tell me what the difference between the Kelly compound labelling is?

Yellow, tiger paw, ivory, and special?

Thanks in advance.

Yes.

Depends on what year/ batch the rubber came from.

Specials were always a higher grade of rubber until around 2013 to 2015 when rubber was just horrible. Then for a few years things were better then things went downhill again.

They have decent-ish rubber at the moment.

Some labels used the same sheets of rubber that other labels used but the donuts were treated to increase firmness or to increase grip with little to no change in firmness. Again depends on what batch of rubber.

DZ posted a sheet that will help decipher. I'll dig it up.

This is in fact not DZ's list. I'm not sure I even agree with it 10% but it's a starting point.

Mark,

I’m glad to see you posting!

I really disliked the inconsistency in rubber quality within and between all vendors. Kelly’s vast assortment of options didn’t help anything because you never knew what would come out of a tube. This forced me to come up with my own treatment process. It’s worked out well for me so far.

Is it just me or are those charts just confusing and telling me little to nothing?

Kelly tires are just confusing with the compounds and labels, not to mention availability.

Hey, I am getting old and things need to be simple. :D

Euro and Retro use a blended fish rubber that has some soft synthetic content. I think Euros have some sticky compound added during treatment also they are softer then Retros.

Intimidator is just fish rubber.

Blues are softer then chrome which is softer then purples.

Sticky is treated soft sticky fish rubber.

Wonder is a blend of some natural rubber with hard synthetic rubber.

Thanks for posting the chart but I must say it's pretty long winded and does not fill me with confidence buying this product for the first time.

Gotboostedvr6, I wish I had a chart like that for the 10.5 bizllion Cox,etc. 60's rims and tyres! Then, I would surely be committed.

Committed people build their own charts.  :clapping:
