Very nice Rodney,
Would you know what the car weighs please?
Thanks Rodney.

Thanks Ernie. 6 ounces even. Heavier than I want it to be.
The body mounting plate is only .015 brass so not much would be gained drilling it out.
The Russkit wire wheels per set are .56 ounce heavier than an equivalent Riggen aluminum wheel set! So, with aluminum wheels the car would be about 5.5 ounce.
Still about a half an ounce overweight.

That's a great pic of the 2 cars side by side, as you probably know the Mark 6 Lola GT and Ford GT 40 shared some DNA. With Eric Broadley designing both cars.

Thanks Martin. Rick and Eric confirm the Ford GT is a Lancer body. The Lancer Ford GT bodies were hard to find when new and hard to find even to this day. As Rick told me, Lancer got the nose of the car right. The Lola body was very popular and easy to find back then.

HI Rodney,
Thank you for taking time to weigh in the cars for me - it's appreciated.
All of your slot car photos that you share, always regurgitate so many fond memories for me.
It sure makes my day.
Thanks, as always, for sharing your treasured collection.
Hope all is well Rodney.
Thank you.

Always loved the Lola GT. Plus it brings back memories of Augie Pabst stuffing the Mecom car into a guardrail at Road America. Nearly decapitated him.

Thanks for sharing your Lola GTs with us, they are also very hard to come by today. I have been fond of Lolas since the my mom told me about the day I was born. They went to the hospital with two names picked out, Thom and Lola.
Are the bodies made by different manufacturers? The red one appears to have a windshield wiper.
Dave, which corner did that happen at?

Rodney, did you have a bending brake to help form the chassis parts? Or were all the parts hand formed, maybe using blocks of wood?
I intend to live forever! So far, so good.

Bill, small bending brake and lots of C clamps.

It looks similar to mine, which is about 18". Plenty big enough for slot cars.
