Looking to pick one up to build a nice '69-70 era modified T-Jet club racer. If anyone has one they'd sell or a line on one, please drop me a line here.... :) Already have a nice original Lancer Chaparral 2F to top it off, plus all the other gear, but a Mura pan would really complete the build. I've attached a pic for reference. Thanks for checking this out.

I had these with a 2F! Loosen the screws a bit and it goes really well.

Thanks for the reply Chris! That was exactly the way I used to run mine! I also put a small strip of adhesive bandage over the nose of the car and then underneath the Lancer mount. Never lost a body that way. When I finally switched to pins & brass tubing for mounts I'd have the body come off occasionally, usually late in a race. That method was never as reliable lol..... :)

Mike D - Thanks for asking! :) I did finally score a couple pans from a gracious racer back there in NY. They're on the way and I'll post pics when the build gets started. Nice to make your acquaintance! Wish I had a personal pic as friendly as yours.. :)

Mike L - Been a long time since the HOUROC days! Hope you and your family are doing well. Racing in the PNW is healthy - there are several groups from Nats Pro-level on down and everything in between. I don't travel much anymore, so I'm trying to get something organized in HO here in Springfield. :)  Talk to you both again soon...

Mike - Here's some old pics you might like - they were taken at an '81 HOUROC race at Pete Santini's place. Pete had taken "custody" of my AFX track and given it a permanent home. We were running IMSA GT cars  and you ended up in all the shots :) !!

I thought I'd come up with a pretty good layout, fast & flowing, but that AFX track was really pretty awful. Everybody had a good time, though, which is the main thing. Andre Perra ended up winning this one. In the pics you can see yourself, Gary Beedle, Andre, Dave Singer, Glenn Bachman (in hospital scrubs!) and several others. In the third pic there's Foamy in the red shirt with his back to the camera! I've also included a pic of Dave Singer's race box with some of the  cars we ran. G--Plus cars with HPS Corna rear tires, TCP/BSRT front end, etc... :) Good times.1563364515_photo03_mmthumb.jpg 1563372330_photo02_mmthumb.jpg HOUROC '81 2.jpg HOUROC '81 3.jpg Singer's G-Plus builds.jpg

wow... I was so skinny back then.

was just out of UCLA and getting back into racing. this was just b4 the Tyco 440 n sil tires. much simpler back then,,, but the AFX G+ (og) was reworked a lot - short wheelbase, etc. Parma resistor controllers. Plastic track (not routed). Good old Pete Santini (I think he still has this track somewhere), still custom painting real cars - and Andre b4 the $$$

Hi Dave,

I've never been that far into Northern NJ on my own I think, but maps says I'm about 70 miles south of there.  Is that up by The Champ?  Good 'ole Henry?

Yes, it's in that neighborhood. Quite a hot bed of pancake power! Good group of racers there from what I understand. If you're ever looking to travel & race you could do a lot worse... :)
