Eight slot-heads showed up to race Late Model NASCAR and Flexi at STR on 6/13/22. Track conditions were a bit loose to begin with but were almost perfect by the time the flexi race began
After Rich and Bob dueled to a tie in the first heat, Bob dominated the balance of the NASCAR race finishing first with 91.2 laps. Meanwhile, Joe and Rich battled for second and third place basically unchallenged by the rest of the field. Going into the final heat, Rich was ahead of Joe by just more than a lap. Rich made an unforced error but was still able to hang on for a second place finish with 88.7 laps. Joe finished third three sections behind.

In the handicap competition it was Nick, Rich and Lowell for first through third respectively. See images below
In the flexi race Bob and Joe emerged as the odds-on favorites turning laps in the 4.6 second range. Bob ran a more consistent race and finished with 99.5 laps. According to my database, this is a new record (Bob seems to think that Jack’s total was a bit higher but that I may not have recorded the results of that race). Anyway, it was a stellar performance.
Joe car was nearly as quick as Bob’s but Joe made a few unforced errors. In any case he finished second with 97.2 laps. Rich managed a solid third place finishing with a personal best of 96.5 laps.
