Fellas,

 

After Pete's wake Thursday I saw fit to continue the C.A.R.S. Vintage Slot Car Club meetings First Thursday of the Month.  I would think that that is what he would want.

 

The themes this night was American Cars, any Red, White or Blue Car, any Buzzy's Basement Beauties finds, and to trade stories and kindly remember our dear friend.  It also happened to be Movie Night at The Race Place, Bill W. was playing Days of Thunder on a huge screen in the field opposite the parking lot.  Many folks brought chairs, practiced for Friday night....it was great to see the Race Place so busy.

 

In attendance were many folks who can appreciate the cars, swap ideas where to get parts, show off builds from throughout the year and..well...I needed support, and my Race Place family was there for me.  Fitting that when I went outside for a drag a half-full moon was visible in the blue skies with some seriously cool cloud cover with amazing hues of color on a descending Sun...

 

Mikey, get to the dang cars already....

Thank you for having us at the Race Place, next C.A.R.S. club meeting, August 4th 2022, but I do have to check if they are closed that day first.  I'll find out tomorrow.

Thank you for all the likes and nice comments, fellas.  It was a somber night, but it was as Pete would want it, a BUSY night for the race place!  Thank you always to Jackie and Jerry for keeping the doors open for us so we have a place to play with our toy cars, that aren't just toy cars to most of us.

 

Also fellas, Sunday I checked with Jerry during the womp race - they are indeed closed August 4th for a few weeks for Vacation, they deserve it.  Rodney, good luck with the Surgery (tomorrow?) and rest up, perhaps I can come pick you up in September or you might be in the clear.  Either way, we'll be rockin' and rollin' in September, on the....1st! 1st Thursday of the Month on September 1st.
