Are they going the way of the JK Hawk can and just making their version of a Hawk 6 or will it stay along the same lines?

Remember, most raceways switched to this motor because the hawk7 motors were extremely unreliable so a lot of novices use them.

is the stack longer? Is that why they used less turns or did they just try to make the motor faster?

The backside looks way beefier which is good news for the Hardbody guys that use screw in motor mounting.I saw it too. It looks like the old hawk6 can and endbell with a faster arm. Just what the classes running the fk motors don't need.

I will give it that. But it still uses the matrix magnets. The backside looks way beefier which is good news for the Hardbody guys that use screw in motor mounting.

I just wonder how well it will work in the classes the old motor was. I mean just opening up the can would have helped the old arm run a little better but this thing is going to sing. I mean it is only 5 more turns than the x12 arm for the old can, with less timing but still.

Looks like all the mounting holes are threaded.
That will help with screw in mounting not distorting the can causing bearing alignment issues. I like BB motors for the same reason.

Mistakes have been made for the motor for the past year. The arms are no where near what they once were in terms of consistency.Mistakes were made here. In a few months when everyone is complaining we will look back and miss the old 4002 can and arm.

Be helpful if you qualify that with what you think is wrong with it
I am more concerned with how to gear it. 11/37 64p seems right for the 4002. I haven't used an X12 in a minican but assume it would be something like 7/42 72p, like a C-can.
So I am thinking starting around 9/42 72p as a starting point

I imagine the Chinese comm will just explode with little effort but Im ok with being surprised in a positive way.

We race Lmp with the American version of this arm in fk Setup on a banked 220 foot track geared 10 41 .695 and its like a light switch. About 2.5 tenths slower then x12. I run a voltage choke so I dont have to rebuild it every race. It still gets insane hot.

Well, we’ll see. Mine arrive next week
