Bryan,
Thanks for the race report.

Everyone appreciates your hard work.

Am I correct the winning car has a different brand motor in the podium pics then it has in the tech pics?

With the SCRRA "auditioning" a few different motors, don't you think that should of been part of your race report?

   Mike,

Thanks, and yes Duran changed motors about halfway through the race. Unfortunately, I don't have time to report simple car problems unless it is noteworthy in the results of a close race.

Would you like to know what happened to my motor in the A Main?.... :laugh2:

Bryan,
I didn't ask for a blow by blow account of the race.

In a PM I sent you, before you made your report, I requested it's made clear that he won the race with a CR102 since it wasn't on the tech sheet.

All you had to do is list CR102 in the podium pics.

I don't find it unreasonable for me to ask for the winning motor to be credited, especially since you make it a point to give every other part used, credit, by posting the tech sheets with the cars.

You repeat mentioning the chassis builder in those podium pics.

That will never change from the tech sheets.

In this case the motor type changed.

Regardless if it did or didn't, now that the SCRRA racers have a choice of 3 motors, don't you think that should get listed in those podium pics?

When Duran posted on FB that he won, the first thing a big event SCRRA racer asked him was which motor did he use.

That's how I found out he switched motors.

I wasn't even aware that was something SCRRA racers could do, mid race.

I don't have much of an opinion on it, other than it seems like it could eventually lead to racers with fast hands, or a dedicated pit man, to change motors multiple times in a race, just to get a cold one in.

As far as your last comment, let me make one thing crystal clear, when I approached various Retro racers to try out my motor, my comments to all of them were "Try it first with a 9T, but you might need a 10T to get it to run Retro Hawk times."

I never said "Use an 11 or a 12, because you can run everyone of these motors into the ground without risk of failure, and break all the Retro Hawk records by 10-15 laps."

Gearing them 12-27 is something the racers concocted.

I'm shocked any of the CR102's make 24 minutes, on 13+ volts, abusing them like that.

If you want to virtually eliminate motor failures, run a spec ratio.

With the previous motor you and the IRRA ran, if you over geared the car, in testing, times dropped off after 3-4 laps, and you knew it wasn't something that was going to work.

Obviously, with my motor, and it's powerful magnets, with the highest temp capabilities available, it usually stays fast .....until it fails catastrophically.

  Mike,

You need to find another race reporter!  :laugh2:   I explained to you that I don't have time to add many details in any of these quicky reports and I don't have knowledge of everything that happened in any specific race and basically I'm just trying to get a few pics and the results correct. Posting all this stuff takes a lot of time not to mention all the time needed at the track on race day to get even a mediocre report organized.....

As I have explained to people out here, "What you see in any of these reports is as good as it's going to get!"

As I also said to you, please feel free to add any info or relevant comments to any race report at any time!  :)

Bryan,
I'll try this one more time.

I contacted you privately before you made your race report.

I never asked for you post any minutia about the race.

I asked you to figure out a way for the CR102 to get credit for winning the race, so I could avoid posting and getting the inevitable "Why is another motor listed on the tech sheets?" questions, and then having to explain that the tech sheet motor slowed or blew up, after 3 heats.

I don't think it was an unreasonable request, especially since I never approached you to adopt my motor in the SCRRA, on the first place.

You could of made 5 keystrokes like the below pic shows.

As I said in my last post, listing the motor type in the podium pics seems like a good idea, regardless of motor brand.

IE-the winning motor, and other podium motors in the F1 King track race, with the race report you are working on.

Your hard work gets acknowledged all the time by me.

Go back and look at all the times I've "liked" your race report, despite stuff like not allowing my weighted guide in the SCRRA.

I tell Howie all the time how I think you are the 2nd or 3rd coolest guy on the planet, and at least twice as cool as him.

Please don't portray me as someone making an unreasonable/impossible request.

Bill,
Have you ever heard of the concept of a slot car company advertising their product, when it wins a big race?

I'll be happy to send you a stack of Scale Auto Racing's, to show you a few hundred examples.

I can read my own SARNs if I want.

My post #13 was in answer to Phil Smith's question in post #12. Next time, I'll respond by PM so you won't have to waste your time answering another person's questions.

Tom,
Read post 11.

I PM'ed him before he posted his race report and he read it but didn't respond.

Slot car companies, who have invested $$$ in making this hobby run, have always requested accurate tech sheets, race reporting, etc, so their product gets probably credited.

I only contacted him so my product got probably credited, trying to avoid a situation where I had to explain how a competitor's product failed.

nothing wrong with tracking product activity or performance. its important to notice trends and make corrections before the customer experiences product issues. same reason some 1/1 car manufacturers will perform a "silent recall" to correct a potential issue before the numbers of complaints reach a threshold for gov safety action. for example, you receive an advertisement notice from your car dealer for an oil and filter change for $19.95, including a free 14 pt safety check. good deal. so when they are done and return your car to you they tell you everything looks good and only charge you $19.95. "oh, by the way we noticed your front brake lines looked a bit worn/frayed so we changed them for you no charge". the brake lines were the reason they wanted to inspect your car in the first place. more data for the company to track issues and a potential hazard resolved. best regards
