That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

Way back when (late '60's-early '70's), when I worked at REH Distributing, Bob Haines had come across a bunch of the original Monogram frames, motors, etc., used in this slot car kit. He got Monogram to make a run of the bodies and related injection-molded parts. All the stuff we needed to make a "kit." No fancy box, great artwork, or directions just parts in a box.

They sold well until we ran out of chassis parts. There were a couple tracks that had solid midget programs. I don't recall what it sold for, but it was under $10. Times have changed, but still a cool slot car.

About 1968, before I got seriously into racing in all the Cleveland area, we in Elyria's Slot Shop had midget racing every week on the smaller more 1/32 track. When i look back now I remember those races with nearly equal cars, and more focused on driving skills as more fun than what the unlimited G7 cars became... memories.

I never had the midget, but the identical chassis was used with Monogram's 1/32 Lotus 33 which I did have. The Lotus was a fun little car and surprisingly fast despite the 13D motor. The narrow Lotus body would only fit the Mabuchi 13D, while the midget would except a 16D, making it a faster and more long-lived car.

The production of that kit is top notch. Lots of thought went into it. Great job, Roger.

I was curious as to why the decals look cut. Licensing problem?

I have a feeling he will be getting many orders for those extra parts on the sheet.

Wonder if he will offer just the body a la carte as Monogram did in the '60s. I believe demand would be very high.

Mid-Amercia will sell just the decals? I did not see them listed on the price list.

Now I can put original Monogram Hot shots together with the new chrome parts.

I was starting to make items like the front bumper from nickle wire. But this takes time, and I say if I can buy it, why make it?

Martin, send Roger a PM and ask if the decals are available separately.

Thanks, Bill. I will get around to that. I was just wondering if someone had already inquired about these. They look really nice quality.

I read on another site that you can only order parts if you buy the kit. The order would have to be on the parts list, which only comes with the kit?
