Race No. 2 of SEASON 10 of the NERR Retro Racing Series will be held on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at:

We'll start the day running Stock Cars on the American Royal before moving to the Gerding G7 King for the Formula 1 race.

Please note the NERR General Race Event Procedures below.


Recommended set-up for Stock Cars on the Royal:

     Braid depth: .015 - .020”

     Body: Charger by RTR, Mid-America, Kelly or Red Fox

     Gearing: Between 9:27 and 10:27 for CR2, depending on setup and driving style

     Tires: Med. Thunder, Mid-America, JK treated, Kelly Retro

     Weight: 136-145 grams

     Times to shoot for: 4.0 – 4.1 seconds

          Existing Lap Records:   Time:    3.948 by John Weaver

                                               Laps:    342/17 by John Weaver

  

Recommended set up for F-1 on the King:

     Braid depth: close to flush, set for .005 maximum

     Body: McLaren M7 by Parma, RTR, O/S or Kelly

     Gearing: 12:27 or 12:28 for CR2, depending on setup and driving style

     Tires: Medium Thunder, Mid-America, Kelly Retro

     Weight: 106-110 grams

     Times to shoot for: 4.0-4.1 seconds       

  Existing Lap Records:   Time:   3.949 by Dom Luongo

            Laps:    348/28 by Dom Luongo

 

 

NERR General Race Event Procedures and Schedule:

 

Track will be open for practice on Friday evening prior to the race from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Pit pass for the evening is $10.00.

 

Track opens Saturday morning at 7:00 am.

 

Entry fees for each class will be collected at tech, cash only please.

 

Entry fee for each class is $15 plus $10 pit pass for race day.

 

Tech opens at 9:00 am, closes at 10:00 am or when last car clears inspection if earlier than 10:00.

 

Cars in Tech shall be impounded and not handled by the car owner or other racers. 

 

Track power will be shut off at 9:30 am.

 

Qualifying starts 15 minutes after close of tech.

 

Lane selection will be immediately after qualifying. Drivers who are not present during lane selection will be assigned a lane at random by the race director.

 

Racing begins 10 minutes after qualifying.

 

Race heats will be 3 minutes in length with two minutes between heats.

 

Prior to the start of each Main a one-minute warm-up will be provided. Sit-outs (if any) have the option of a one-minute warm-up.  

 

Tech will open for next class one hour after conclusion of previous race or as stated by the Race Director--track power will be shut off 15 minutes after tech opens.

 

In races with move-ups, drivers moving up shall have 10 minutes from the completion of podium photos of the previous main to present their car to Tech for re-inspection.

It looks like there are arrows placed around the Royal, to help the marshals, because you race clockwise?

The way that American designed the track for or at least the drawing say go that way.

 

It seems like it makes a cleaner race.
