I know you have been waiting a while but here is a first look at the new DD201. It is built on the same platform as the DD205/DD206 and DD207 models. The larger heatsink will now handle most motors instead of being limited to 16D types.

The special frame for these models has been delayed and will be here in a couple weeks.

Thant's an interesting peek behind the curtain. 6 boards on a frame, assembled before separated. I would have never guessed any of that.

Not sure what is going on with the blue pot Russ, but it could be TC.

The small blue pot is the traction control which has become a very popular feature. It will now be standard for about $11 more than the original DD201 model. The heatsink is in the handle so a choke would produce too much heat. This controller will be about $205 retail.

It is a big reason why I use a separate frame and circuit board design instead of one large PCB.

I would still like to see controller makers offer click stop knobs for their controllers, at least as an option (link below).
When adjusting a knob from 0 to 10, the click stop knobs I'm using have 22 stops but after using mine for quite a while now, I feel that a little finer adjustment would be better.  I believe that 31 stops (exactly 3 stops per number) might be ideal.
Just my .02 of course.
