'Bellflower' Bob Fernandez  passed away on appx 10/3/2022. Bob was the manager of Bellflower Raceway and the AMR Aristocrat track for decades. I have no idea of how old he was or his situation. I met Bob in 1990 and thus began my second interest in slot cars. If you knew him please share your story with us. Please honor him by sharing a post here.

Does anyone have the street address of the former Bellflower Raceway?

That's thirty minutes away. I'll be there in ten.

I believe it was 16400 Bellflower Blvd. The building that the track was in was demolished and it's now a county fire museum.

I started racing there in the late '80s, and raced there until they closed. I met some of my best friends at that track.

Bob was very knowledgeable but he could be very obstinate. I did like his race programs because he ran them so that newcomers could have a chance to grow in the hobby.

The guys in the video were three of his closest friends: Jeff Easterly, Terry De Los Santos and Richard Rodriguez.

I went there a few times in the mid 70s.

I did not slot car race but the guy that ran the place built a few great running Cox .049 engines for my Jerobee RC car.

I took them over to Thorp raceway and got a few wins with the engines too.

Was that Bob that built my .049s?
