Much better use for that chassis. A nice match.

Great job, Rod, and I agree with Martin: a perfect match. The car you found was an odd one, with a relatively modern body and an old-style chassis. But I love finding these experimental chassis from the early days.
What color Tamiya paint did you use? Not easy to find the Aston-Martin color...

Nicely done! i wonder how many body choices there are currently available from that time period?

Chassis is very cool, especially the original rear axle setup.
Love the stable.
Never thought I would say this but I'm really drawn to the #33 Jag. Looks so sleek.
Hated these cars as a kid but I really didn't appreciate them.
Where is that body from?
How about a couple pics?

Ditto for the blue No. 8 - what is that?
Great looking fleet - how about a shot of the chassis?

Thanks, Love the simplicity of the chassis (not saying the car was easy to build)
The whole car captures the vintage look.
I've used those Ram/Pittman style motors on some hard body cars and they run surprisingly well.
Not a criticism but have you tried Tamiya panel line paint on things like the grille? Great stuff.
Also Tamiya clear red, orange and yellow for things like signals and tail lights.
Really puts the cherry on top of a nice build.

Joe, I got as bottle of theTamiya panel line paint and have not tried it yet. I will look for the Tamiya clear red and orange. Thanks for the tips. Please share more. The old motors do run well.

Don. I found the Talbot Lago model at a model car swap meet years ago. This particular curb-side model car was also featured in an old model car book. I added the slot car running gear and driver figure.

Rodney, my actual first love was model cars and HO slots. Then I got hooked on 1/32-1/24. I have at least 40 started hard body projects.
You've inspired me to complete them.
I've posted before showing my methods.
Just trying to share 50+ years of model building.
I'm going to revive my posts here.
Thanks for lighting a fire under my ***

That Talbot Lago is a great model Rod, and you've done an excellent conversion job, as usual! Thought I recognized it, but couldn't remember the name.
Good to see the R/D Mini Car chassis being used - it was one of the first to be offered in the States.
Do you know what book it was shown in?

Don, sorry I do not remember the title or author of the hard cover book. Looking forward to seeing the builds Joe.

Love this period of early racing. I met Lou, one of the people that are featured in this documentary.
I sat with Lou and listened to his stories about the racing back then, I was blown away by my luck to meet this guy and this link to the early days of road racing.
Wish I could find the whole documentary. I have seen it before and posted it but thought it was fitting for this conversation.
