[Ohio Retro Series]

We had a small turnout for the ORS season opener at HMS Speedway.

 

6 entries for Stock Car

6 entries for F1

9 entries for Can Am

 

A new retro racer made his first appearance.  Welcome Bryan Rooker.

 

Also, we made another schedule change for November's race at HMS.  Instead of racing on November 12, the race is now scheduled a week later to November 19.

 

I am no longer entering providing all of the data from the tech sheets because of this additional time required to enter and format this data.

Had this race been properly scheduled after communicating with the other series I can almost guarantee you would have had 15 entries without the Henry family . We all need to do better for the good of retro racing.

So tell us who is running ORS ?   Because the last chat I had.  I was informed that Tom Thumb was closing and all races there were cancelled.  That left us scrambling to fill 2 dates. We had been communicating and working with Mike for months to put out a schedule.  That worked for all 3 groups. Penn Ohio still kept Tom Thumb on their schedule even after we were told.  That Columbus racers would not travel to North East and race.  So saying it goes both ways is a slap in the face to the BOD of Penn Ohio.  And people wonder why Retro races are not being attended.

I had no idea that I would be selling the business when we were working on a unified schedule. Start to finish the deal took less than 6 weeks. I fully intended to host all the race dates as well as the R4. But I was blessed with an unbelievable deal that is allowing us to buy a home more suited to Cindy in her new reality. She certainly deserves it.

Dan, you tried hard to get us not to schedule at HMS and gave me a multitude of reasons why. You also said that you doubted anyone from the ORS would go to NE, I think, based on past history. I never said no one would go there. And when I asked our racers about HMS they voted to go. So we are.

I left Eric and Thom holding the ORS bag when Cindy’s health issues started. I think they have done a great job during a very challenging several years. I plan to become more involved again as soon as the dust settles.

[Ohio Retro Series]

Had a larger turnout for some flat track fun at Mark's Model World.  Once again, Mark provided a good lunch for the racers.

 

I didn't update the points after the last HMS race.  The update is included with this listing.

 

Thank you for coming out and having some fun at this combined race.

 

 

The next ORS race is at HMS on January 14, 2023.
