I never thought about it before. I imagine all the hardware and software required to setup a really nice drag strip timing system ain't cheap.

Hey Guys!  Thanks for the super quick response.

I am talking with trackmate now. Its $$1100 for basics. With race software and printer its over $2000 with extra features. Plus you need a computer with windows

I was fishing to see if anyone had some used stuff.

Thanks for the info.

Does anybody know Larry Black, he had the speedway in Snellville, Ga.

I heard the track was ruined from water damage, Wonder about the timing system.

Try contacting Ralph Thorne at RTR Racing, if anyone knows how to contact Larry Black he probably does.  That failing Greg Wells (Cheater) here on Slotblog might also be able to get you in contact with Larry.

I have a used Trackmate system with cables for 1,000 ft.

It has bulbs(vs. the U-shaped ones) for sensors, and a few are broke.

$200 shipped.

If interested, I'll dig it up and post pics.

That was my system. Has everything you need to run heads-up and bracket races. Sets up elimination brackets. $775 new in 2005.

Has infra-red sensors, but will use any Trackmate sensors. One infra-red sensor is broken in the finish line harness. Harness is for 1000 ft track (1/4 mile in 1/32nd scale. New harness (1/4 mile) when I checked about five years ago was $99.00. The infra-red sensors worked great, but don't like flourescent lights overhead. You might have to use incandescent floodlights over the start and finish lines. Mike's price is outstanding for what you get. Trackmate is the best drag system.

Trik Trax made a self contained drag timing system too. No computer needed to make it work.

PM me I have pictures if you want to see one.
