I'msure there are others like me with limited pit space at home. With only a cramped one-car garage, I managed to have this space. I since temporarily moved into our retro room due to cooler weather approaching. Those pictures to follow. I do miss the old school stereo. I tried our small TV room but was in the way when grandkids visited. It didn't last long.

I am fortunate to have a larger 16 x 32 space now. But I started inside of the house. Much of this stuff was crammed in a 11 x 14 room and a 10 x 12 room. I had to put one thing away before I could work on something else. Everything got covered when it came time to paint. Perhaps these pics will give you some ideas on how to use your space. Most of the plastic racks, drawers and bins are Walmart or Harbor Freight items. The metal shelves and desks are Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. The roll top desk was our best find of only $150 and is a great option for small spaces. Lots of drawers and bins. Just be selective about the one you get. If I could only have one of these work stations, it would be the roll top. It took some searching for a few months, but cheap stuff is available every day.
Happy hunting and be ready to pounce. Great deals don't last long.

Cool Marantz receiver!
Thanks. I also have Sansui 7070 and 8080 receivers along with various RSL speakers that I used at one time.
One reason I’m cramped for space. Those old school electronics rock.

Love the light box!
I guess I'm fortunate to be living single in a 2200 sq. ft., four bedroom home. Lots of room for my hobbies. My pit space is wherever I happen to be working at the time. I do a lot of building on the kitchen table. No wife to give me crap about it. One bedroom is for my younger brother when he comes to visit. The master bedroom is a library. One to store my toys, one to store other stuff. (I sleep in the recliner due to my arthritic hip). Half the basement is train layout, the other half a machine shop with one corner dedicated to laundry. So like a cat, I just do whatever I want to do right where I am doing it.

We added a utility room to the back of the house that provides room for my home track, workshop, and other storage. The tall rack is bicycle stuff, another hobby, but does serve to hold my piano wire stock. The other two low rolling racks provide workspace and store tools and slot car supplies/parts. Tall cabinets behind the camera keep painted bodies and chemicals.

That was the golden era of receivers. And the prices for a lot of it is really high on eBay.
I had a Pioneer SX-1080 and HPM 100 speakers. I had them for a long time. At some point I lost my appreciation for them. A relay went bad in the receiver and I just put it out on the curb for someone to pick up. I sold the speakers to a friend for cheap. Of course now I'm kicking myself in the arse for doing that!
I'm glad you were smart enough to hold on to your stuff.

Brian Czeiner, after some thought, I don't think yours counts. That's not a hobby room. That a manufacturing facility.

I agree, but this started out as just a hobby. Things just got a little out of hand.

I am so ashamed. It needs a panorama. It is the same bench/table since 1964 and now in its fourth location. I sure have fun.
