Stock Car rules update:

  • Effective immediately, the area to the rear of the rear of the rear wheel well may not be below the center line of the rear axle.
  • Effective January 1, 2023, the min thickness on the sides of stock car bodies must be .008 min with no tape. Hood thickness remains at .012 with no tape.

Effective immediately, the BoD has verified that available commercial building jigs are not dead on accurate so we have decided to allow the following tolerances for the Stock Car class:

  • Guide lead: .740 to .760" with the .750" being the target measurement
  • Wheelbase:  4.50" desired with a tolerance of +/- .015.

Looking for some clarification

if the cut line behind the rear wheels is above the center line of the rear axle it looks like that will remove the rear bumper. that is from a quick look at a stock car.

Bill, basically instead of following the angled body lines some were making the cut parallel with racing surface.

So they were trying to get the rear of the bodies lower?

I was a little confused when I read the new rule too.

If the body is trimmed on the cut line it is ok. Some made a full skirt with the rear well below it.

Even cut on John's line that 's a lot lower than the center line of the rear axle.

If the body is trimmed on the cut line it is ok. A small portion may be below the center line of the axle.
