Thanks to everyone who helped with their answers on this project. The following photo montage is the result of those answers plus a little extra. A very special Thank You to my wife, Lynn for her Photoshop expertise on the montage.

It can now be revealed as to why I wanted to use a Chicagoland CR-206 drag motor I bought at Magnatech for this project.

The CR-206 is on a steel hard body chassis, but I couldn't find the right hard body to make this happen before Christmas so, I went with a lexan Mopar. It's geared at 8/35 with Hoosier 1.06 rear tires and .910 fronts from Mid-America. The first test of whether Santa can get the toys of all the Good Girls and Boys this Christmas will be on Thursday at the Tyler Slot Car Club's weekly meeting.

I'm hoping that this Rudolph Transformer will lift off through the open window at the end of the 20ft straight and head North for service on the 24th...

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well learn something every day.

I did not know the CR-106 was that open. I thought it looked like a 102 with just a hole on each side of the can.

Oh and good luck with the lift off/launch.

Eddie, the CR-106 can is just like the CR-102. The motor Scott is using is the CR-206 which is the same as the 106 but with the open can. It is very popular for drag racing and also for some fast road racing.

...and yes...it's far too much motor for this, but then this project wasn't about sanity in slot racing. It was about building a fun project around a motor. It just happened that Christmas was coming and this is what came out of somewhere. Kinda like those monster Rat Fink models from the 60's.

For those feeling its a waste of motor, I have a Chicagoland CR-002 wing chassis that it'll be migrated to after 1/24 scale Santa is done with it...

Merry Christmas...
