Sunday's D3 hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway included a new racer and a second time racer. Walter Baynes raced hardbodies for the first time while JAB Racing team mate Rick Jocham entered his second race ever (Rick raced in this year's Trans Am Enduro in April).

The GTP race was easily won by Jim Lane driving his very fast Porsche 962. Keith Tanaka was 2nd and Hector Gonzalez was 3rd. The Racer Handicap podium had Tim Wood 1st, Bob Ahulii 2nd and Russ Uppman 3rd.
The Mixed race was quite a crash fest, but Jim Lane won again driving his '53 Corvette, Rick Jocham was 2nd driving a Gonzo loaner Lola T70, Keith Tanaka 3rd driving his Jalopy.
The Mixed race "Racer Handicap" podium had Tim Wood winning again driving a Short Track NASCAR, Paul Kabot 2nd driving a Short Track NASCAR and Alex Dubrowsky 3rd driving a 3C's Corvette.

The mixed race had two unique cars entered, "dual motor" cars built/raced by Ken Dylke and Hector Gonzalez. Dual motor cars are allowed in any D3 Hardbody race. Dual motor cars are fast in the straightaways but can be a challenge to drive consistently fast thruout the entire race.

Thanks to Robert Range of BPR for supporting D3 Hardbody Racing at Buena Park Raceway.
Thanks to our race director Victor Dubrowsky.

Also, an extra race day on Sunday January 29, 2023 (5th Sunday).

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year!

Do you have any more pics from the top side of the dual motor cars? Those are interesting.

Brian, here's photos of Hector "Gonzo" Gonzalez Nissan GTR dual motor:

By the way, the motor/rear axle assembly is built on as one pod and is easily removed from the main chassis. Gonzo's articulating pan chassis design has proven to be a winner (single motor version) at our D3 hardbody races at Buena Park Raceway.

Here's one of Gonzo's single motor cars which was driven recently by Mill Conroy as he set a new total lap record for our D3 hardbody "Can Am" racing class.
