Chuck Parsons raced the Lola T160 and the Lola T163 in the Can-Am series.  The Lola T160 was the replacement for the aging Lola T70.  The T160 was a little wider than the T70 due to wider tires.  I guess it was McLaren Mk6A size.  The Lola T163 was much wider (McLaren Mk8B size).  The Lola T163 ran a Paul Lamar high wing.  These were two of my favorite Can-Am cars.

These two slot cars use resin bodies, Plafit chassis, Falcon 7 motors, and Tamiya paints.  The chassis were converted to 1/8" axles.  The T160 is metallic, and the T163 is solid orange with some metallic fogged in.

Mounting the high wing on a resin body would not last, so I made the wing removable and mounted it to the chassis.

Rod,

I love both of these cars. At Electron we run a 60/70s endurance car class and at our sister track we run a Can-Am class. Most of our Can-Am cars are either Resilient Resins (cast by the late Doug Haynes) or Tamiya plastic bodies.  Although the T70 is available the go-to car is the Lotus 40 (?) because it is so low and pretty wide. I love the T70 but it is uncompetitive because it is much narrower. From what you have said the T160 is wider and would be more desirable. Are these 1/24? Are these available and if so, where? One more question - if these are available what is the weight of each body and width at the front and rear wheel wells. Thanks

Below is an image of my T70. (At Electron, we race a mixed class of Can-Am and endurance cars - the best endurance body is the Porsche 917) Also shown below is an image of my 917. Both have Scholer chassis with custom side and front pans and we run ProSlot 16D motors (the image of the Lola has a Deathstar but was upgraded to a ProSlot later)

Nice Lolas, Rod. These are my favourites, too, so I produced and built a lot.

Super nice. Those Russkit wheels caught my eye right away.

Love the "filled up" wheel wells on the #26.

Don't know where you find the time to do all these cars.

Thanks, everyone.  It helps to be retired to play with toys.  Rick was wondering about the side view mirror mounting.  The mirror is drilled for the wire (thanks for the idea, Joe Lupo), and the wire is glued to the mirror.  The wire goes through the fender hole and is glued down to the car underside.  The mirror is not glued down on the top side.
