The time has come for the 1st race of 2023. We will be running at P1 Raceway in Winter Garden, FL on Sunday January 22 where we will run GT Coupe, Stockcars, and Can-Am.

 

Doors will open at 8am. 

Pit pass - $8. Race entry $15 per class. 

If all 3 classes are entered pit pass fee will be waived. 

Tech for GT Coupe will open at 9:15. Qualify at 9:30.

30 min following Gt we will run Stockcars. 

30 min following Stockcars we will run Can-Am. 

 

If you are interested in getting some practice time in P1 does test and tune on Thursday evenings from 7-10. 

Marcus is also going to open on Sunday Jan. 15 from 9:30am to 3:30pm for practice.

We had a great turnout for the first Gator Region Retro Racing (GRRR) race of 2023.  There were 43 entries total, 15 for GT Coupe, 15 for Stock Car, and 13 for Can-Am.  P1 Raceway owner Marcus Ramos had his Hillclimb track in great condition and the racing was fast, friendly, and close as always.  An all you can eat pizza lunch was provided too!  Here are the race results....

 

GT Coupe Qualifying (15 entries): TQ was Jeff Bonnano.

 

GT Coupe B Main Results: Terry Tawney 344 Laps, Ralph Josey 338 Laps, Don Bonnano 335 Laps

It was a super close race for third place with only one lap separating 3 drivers.

 

GT Coupe B Main Podium:  Ralph Josey 2nd, Terry Tawney 1st, Don Bonnano 3rd

 

GT Coupe A Main Results: Jeff Bonnano 361 Laps,  Brian Ambrose 358 Laps, Marcus Ramos 353 Laps.

 

GT Coupe Combined Results: Jeff Bonnano 361 Laps,  Brian Ambrose 358 Laps, Marcus Ramos 353 Laps.

It was a super close race for fourth place with three drivers on the same lap and only four sections apart!

Stock Car Qualifying (15 entries): TQ was Brian Ambrose.

 

Stock Car B Main Results: Josh White 310 Laps, Donny Caron 301 Laps,  Ray Lee 295 Laps

Awesome drive by Josh White in this one, taking 3rd in the combined results from the B main!

 

Stock Car B Main Podium: Donny Caron 2nd, Josh White 1st, Ray Lee 3rd

 

Stock Car A Main Results: Brian Ambrose 325 Laps, Jeff Bonnano 325 Laps, Jay Guard 306 Laps

This one was super close for first place with Brian just edging out Jeff by 3 sections.

Can-Am Qualifying (13 entries): TQ Brian Ambrose (Wow, less than .08 seconds between the first five qualifiers!)

 

Can-Am B Main Results: Grant Goerner 347 Laps, Jeremy Moorman 344 Laps, Don Bonnano 343 Laps

Good close racing with only 4 laps between first and third.

 

Can-Am B Main Podium: Jeremy Moorman 2nd, Grant Goerner 1st, Don Bonnano 3rd

 

Can-Am A Main Results: Brian Ambrose  361 Laps, Marcus Ramos  355 Laps, Terry Tawney 353 Laps.
