A friend showed me this chassis and asked me if I knew what is is - I don't! It does seem to be a manufactured item, but not mass produced...

Any ideas?

thanks,

Don

Not much solder needed to build this chassis.  :laugh2: Looks like a shaker womp. Have not seen one previously..

How does the body mount?

No body mounts that I can see; the cross-piece is piano wire, not tube.

Don, no screw holes in the pans or pin tubes. I assumed the chassis was used by a group that taped their bodies on, as some British used to do & some US hard body home groups still do. That motor bracket appears to be iron or steel. Have you seen it used on anything else? Could it have been cut from a square tube?

Not saying this is how this chassis is mounting its body but Bill is correct, in the UK late 60s to 1970 I used to tape my cars bodies on. Never had a problem with that method.

Mike, I do not see any wear around the guide hole, so it maybe it is not finished?
