Good day everyone.

 

This coming Saturday we are Retro racing at Duffy's SlotCar Raceway located in beautiful Evans, CO 

 

We will be racing Retro 4.5" Stock Car, Retro F1, and Retro Can-Am in that order. We will be tech'ing and racing under RMRRA rules. 

 

We are expecting an above average turnout for many reasons. A) because Retro racing and Colorado Retro racers are cool. B) It is what may be Paul Murr's final event with us for awhile. Paul is selfishly moving to Florida to live the dream and escape CO winters. We are going to have a small farewell lunch for him including breakfast burritos followed by Leslies pulled pork for lunch. It would be great if long time friends of Paul could also attend even if just to hang out and say hello. Paul is a Colorado RMRRA staple and we would like to honor him on this day. 

 

If you are planning on attending, please let us know here or message Matt or Leslie so that we can get the pit spaces saved.

 

Parts department is fully stocked and we are cleaning the track on Wednesday night.

 

Friday, February 17 - Free open practice to all competitors. Track will be open from noon until roughly 10 PM. 

 

Saturday, February 18

 

Doors open at 7:30 AM.

Tech opens no later than 10 AM.

Stock Car qualifying starts no later than 10:30.

Lunch to follow Stock Car.

F1 to start 30 minutes after lunch.

Can-Am 30 minutes after F1 (typically starts around 5 PM).

 

It could be a long day, so take your meds and bring extra if you need to. And like Eddie told his wife when she called to tell him she was locked out of the house, "I can't come home right now honey, I am marshalling and it is kind of important."

Paul, sorry to hear of your "escape to warmer climate". actually glad for you. even though I haven't been able to

 

race in the series for a couple of years, I was always glad to compete with you. You and Allen have been the cornerstones

 

since 2008? when rmrra was formed. for so long you were the go to guy to keep it going. good luck friend, you will be missed.

The entries keep piling in! Track was cleaned by Alan, Steve and Jayden last night, followed by 150-200 laps on reach lane to get the glue spread out. Raceway is also getting some much needed cleaning attention. Really excited for this one.
