As many of you may have seen in my eternal podium posting, David Ziuchowski passed away unexpectedly at the end of January. Dave is the former owner of Stanley J's Raceway in Spokane, WA. Today several of us opened up a storage unit that Dave has maintained in Spokane for many, many years. We knew there were several tracks inside, but were stunned at what was there. As best we can count, the storage unit contains 6 race tracks, and we know of at least one more in a different venue. There are:
1. A Hasse-built King
2. An 8-lane Hasse-built Road Course, referred to as a "paperclip". Do not know the footprint of this track.
3. A professional-grade routed HO track in 4 sections. I believe there are 6 lanes, but could be 8. The total footprint is 6x24.
4. A full quarter-mile drag strip (55' plus runout), mounted on legs.
5. Another 6-lane road course of indeterminate length
6. An 8-lane American Raceway track, painted black, but unclear if it is an original yellow or an actual black. We believe this track MAY have come from somewhere in Montana.
We believe all of the original power supplies are with the tracks, but they are so crammed in the unit that it will take some time to sort them out.
The second storage unit contains the Monza track. It is a plywood track, I believe originally from West Seattle Raceway. Unfortunately, that storage unit is being emptied tomorrow, Feb 19. Since no one in Spokane has stepped up to claim this track, it will likely go to the landfill tomorrow.
Dave's former partner Denise is liquidating all of these tracks. She plans to pay the rental on the storage unit for another 30 days. If no one steps forward to claim the tracks, they will meet the same fate as the Monza. I am listing these tracks on Denise's behalf.
If you are interested in ANY of these tracks, please PM me immediately.
