Did the Cox factory ever make a Gurney Ford as an RTR? I have one that could be along with a NIB kit, spare body and spare chassis.

Thanks.

In 1971, purchased a replacement Cox mag-frame Chaparral 2E body in a similar box to your spare body box.

I don't remember Cox ever making any assembled RTR cars. Everything I remember were kits that required some assembly.

Maybe Philippe will chime in to line things out but I don't believe there was ever an RTR Gurney car. Beautiful job of assembly on the car by someone however. I remember seeing a body kit in the cardboard box just like that on ebay 20 some years ago. I bought one of the nos chassis from Philippe probably 25 years ago. Nice stuff you have there.

Cox of course made plenty of RTR cars, assembled in Hong Kong from parts shipped there from Santa Ana. Their whole 1965 line was available in kit or RTR form.

But in 1966, things changed, and they never made RTR versions of the Ford stocker, or the Chaparral 2D, or the Chaparral 2E with the magnesium frame.

By 1967, many previously beautifully packaged parts, chassis and bodies, were now marketed in plain-Jane white or brown corrugated boxes.

Oh my! Nice kit. It's one of Cox's most fabled offerings.
