I bought this on E-Bone recently. It appears to be a kit that was botched. Nothing was flat or straight, rendering it useless. All the pieces were formed nicely and not home made. I took it completely apart, cleaning off the solder and straighening a few that were tweaked. I was able to save every part except the front axle tube mounts. I know it's not a Phase III or Ferret. Other that, there few pics of 1/32 like these.

With the right hand drive side a TSR motor would work. Nice reconstruction of a very old kit,

She's real fine, my 409!!!

Thanks. It will probably get a period motor and body.

The drop arm appears to be a shortened early Cobra. The piano wire main rail piece might be Cobra or Ferret/Phaze III. I can't name the brass pans. but I think I've seen one on the side of another chassis. Whoever combined these parts came up with a neat 1/32 chassis. Al, will a 2 1/2" wide body fit on this chassis?

The width is just shy of 2 1/2" Who used that motor mount?

It looks like someone cut up a 1/24 kit to make a 1/32 car. But then any manufacturer could have done that too.

I looked at one of my 1/24 Cobras that have the same mount and looks to be the drop arm and the main rail/motor box matches. Mystery solved!

I can't recall seeing a 1/32 Cobra anglewinder chassis in the flesh or a photo thereof. It doesn't mean they don't exist.

I think this shows the same bloodlines. the main rail is identical, just shortened.

Here is another 1/32 Cobra anglewinder on the right in these photos. It has a pan similar to the two on your car Al. It even has another shortened 1/24 Cobra drop arm.

That's very different. Maybe they did more varied 1/32 chassis. That one has no plumber hinge and a wraparound motor/axle mount.  This is the finished product along with it's Phaze III cousin.

Alan, here are your 1/32 pans. I now think your 1/32 chassis was sold as a Cobra built chassis or as one of their kits. Whichever it was, not many exist.

I think that Champion is made in Japan. AYK? Probably sold as Riko in Europe.

Zipper, I'm convinced that they all came out of a giant kettle. Then, they reached into a hat and decided what manufacturer (?) To supply that verity to.
Sometimes,if you bribed the right person, Ummmm, asked nicely, you could enter your name more than once.

The Phaze III !/32 sidewinder plumber in the ad is the same Phaze III as mine except that has no plumber version.

Al, I bet the chassis like yours didn't cost $7.98 either. I don't recall what I was paying in the early '70s for 1/24 non-plumbered Phaze III anglewinders. My guess would be between $6-$7.
