Gad, I am tired of building these chassis. Can't even count how many I have built over the last dozen years, but here we go again.

Both will get McLaren M8 bodies but painted differently. One with a Mura "C" with a Group 20 arm and the other a Gp 12. Both will be painted differently.

Rest of the bits should be the same between the cars including the chassis.

Got a brand new soldering iron tip, fresh .040" brass cut, tubes cut, motor brackets... hang on, it's going to be a wild two weeks...

First center section is done.  Rather than building these one at a time, I think I'll start the second center section while my mind is in the same mode.

Two drop arms are now constructed along with hinge mounts.

Finally got the tongue attached along with an up stop.  But I am done for the day.  Plumber day tomorrow.

Yesterday was plumber day and I got both chassis made  up.  Today I started hanging the pans.  Tomorrow is bite bars and limiters but not before I clean up first.  With the chassis loose like this it's easier to get into all the little nooks and crannies.

They look so nice! I'm continually astounded at the level of skill you builders demonstrate.

Not bad for a 64 year old hairlip with sinus problems.
Just wish I could get a soldering iron tip that lasts more than a few chassis builds.

Well then it's high time to step out of the box and make one a hard body racer!

Not much to report.  Got the bits hung on the chassis.
Pot is good so cutting and trimming the bodies today.  Then paint interiors... then....paint bodies.
It's good having work.

Got some paint on the interiors and the bodies.  Still more to do of course, along with letting the paint dry. (sigh)

Finished the two McLaren bodied cars finally.  Spent more time painting and putting wings on those cars than it took to build the chassis from scratch.  INCLUDING cutting the pans and tongues from .040 brass.  Glad this one is done!

 

 

 

Now.... what do I do?
