John Weaver took the early lead while Peter Lentros, Rolly Lapierre Jr. and Bob “Woody” Hazelwood were in a tight battle for the two remaining podium positions. By the midpoint in the race, Weaver was sitting on a 14-lap lead over Pete and Rolly who were tied for second place with an even 200 laps each. Woody was running in fourth, trailing them by four laps.

Further back in the pack, Dan Savage, Joe Yates, and Richard Payne were running close together with 185, 184, and 180 laps respectively. Paul Ryer was well off the pace, trailing Rich by 64 laps after having car problems early in the race.

Weaver continued to build his lead in the second half of the race, taking the win by a 43 lap margin. The tie between Pete and Rolly was decided in Pete’s favor, as his 399 laps put him in second place. Meanwhile, Woody managed to slip past Rolly to complete the podium, claiming third place by less than a lap. Joe managed to get past Dan to take fifth place by a four-lap margin.

Race winner John Weaver posted the fastest lap of the evening with a 3.125 time on the blue lane. Peter’s 3.344 best lap was good enough for second fastest, but more than two tenths slower than John. Although he finished last, Paul Ryer had a good second half on his way to posting the third fastest lap on the night with a 3.351.

Ray,

Since the availability of motors is limited at the moment, we are looking for a motor to use in NERR's IROC Enduro, scheduled for May 20th. We've test run the Mid-America Retro Eagle in the IROC chassis and it seems to work well, so we are going to do a larger test for the 4/18/23 coupe race on the King.

So far the response to the Enduro has been limited. If you, or anyone else, are interested in running the Enduro, please confirm your interest via email: davidpanich@yahoo.com

Entry fee for the IROC race will be $30. It will be followed by NERR's annual banquet and awards ceremony.
