Sad news today as we observe the passing of another great slot racer.

Oh no! So sad.

Could you show us any of Jeff's slot cars? And does Buena Park Raceway still host Lead Sled Fiestas?

I first met Jeff Buyer when I was a 12-year old kid hanging out at Bellflower Raceway. Jeff liked to have fun with his slot cars. He built slot cars like the slot car tractor pull and the crash test dummies car that exploded on impact. He was also a local at Thunder Raceway, my dad's raceway opened in the mid-1990s.

Jeff took a chance on me when I was an unemployed computer geek in 2001. He helped me get a job at the City of Long Beach, working in the data center. Jeff was never easy on me, and sometimes I thought he was harder on me than the rest of his staff. But, while I worked for him, Jeff taught me many essential life lessons. He helped me grow as an individual and be a good employee.

I don't know where I would be today if I had never met Jeff Buyer. I will never forget how much he did for me and my family. He was a great example of all that is good in the slot car community.
