Sunday's 1/32 hardbody race at Buena Park Raceway was a lot of fun with several racers first ever hardbody race on the flat track.

BPR and JAB (Rick Jocham and Walter Baynes) Racing sponsored this special race for 1/32 cars.
Although D3 Hardbody Racing held some 1/32 hardbody races last year, this race had a better turnout and proved to be a lot of fun.
The first race was for GTE (GT3) cars (made by various 1/32 manufacturers). Two races of 8 entries each would be combined to determine the podium finish for GTE.
The second race was for F1 (NSR or Scaleauto mfgs.).

Here's the race/photo report: https://socald3.smug...-races-4-23-23/

After this race, it was determined that a regular 1/32 hardbody race similar to today's race would be on the 4th Sunday of each month. We'll continue to monitor this new race series and report.

The next regular D3 Hardbody races at BPR, Sunday, April 30th (5th Sunday).

How many of those cars survive to the end of the race wings intact?

I wasn't keeping track of the wing damage, but I did notice a few cars did damage/lose their wings. Actually, the body damage in this race was much less than I anticipated but open wheel cars are always prone to damage during a race.

When buying a beautifully modelled RTR slot car, I tend to avoid any with wings since that's the flimsiest most damage prone part of the car.

When you start looking for modern cars or even semi modern without wings the selection gets small.

Most of the wings can be reinforced with fine piano wire (.005-.015").

Well since I'm all about vintage anyway, that hardly matters.
