Slammers are a new class of racing at Electron Raceway. These cars resemble what I might call Late Model, Extreme Modifieds and were inspired by our Northwest True Scale club. When I shared some images of these cars with our Club members, each and every one just had to have one of their own. Ron was the driving force, coming up with our own prototype and building, cars for nearly all members. The class was developed with the KISS (keep it simple stupid) in mind.  The chassis for this class is our standard H-bracket design that is used for the Sports Car, Trans-Am and NASCAR classes.  All that is needed is a body swap.

Below is an image of a sample chassis (Scholer) and images of all the cars that have run in this class to date.  Check back for updates as more cars are built.

The cars look sharp! You have another fun class to run.

Thanks Bill,
I am always looking to spice it up and early indications are that the Slammer class will do just that.  The cars are unique and they are quick.  Another idea I am working on is a small sports car class dubbed Clubman.  Tentatively, the cars will be production cars with a much narrower track than our current sports car class.  The bodies will fit our existing True Scale Can-Am/Gran Sport chassis so, again, only a body swap and change in track are necessary.  I had an old viper and decided to use it as a prototype.  I am not enamored with the paint job so I will likely strip it and repaint. Below are a few images.
