I recently re-discovered this in an envelope that had a bunch of slot ephemera in it. I present for your consideration,

Mike, thanks for posting this. At one time, I had a copy that Joel passed out at a CT wing car race. I haven't seen it in 40 years, it could be packed away with my wing car stuff in the attic. It's not the only piece of literature I've misplaced.

you are not kidding. So much less equipment was needed then, like tire truers, balancers, no weighted $10 guide flags, fewer motors etc. They are going much faster these days but they are not having more fun than we did back then. At one of Joel's races the Elmsford crew all went out to watch the newest Pink Panther movie.
Nicholas, I will send you those buzzy sign up sheets!

I probably weighed all of 130 pounds then. That was the reason I was assigned to the "Ninety" for marshalling: I fit.

JIM Been thinking for some time that going faster in model racing or1/1 doesn't mean it's going to be a great race. Still go to Stafford.some I think the lower classes are the best races. When I stared RC I could carry my stuff in the back of my 280z got to the point I needed a van or pickup . WE did have a lot of fun back then!!!!
Any plans on coming North this year? It be nice to see people again!!!

I was saying for 6 months I was going to go to the Scale Nats in Jersey and see my sister and friends. But with a number of supply issues and delays starting in November I just decided I was too far behind to take the time off. My controller orders have skyrocketed at the same time, especially for HO and 1/32. I am looking at the ISRA worlds coming up to visit the northeast area again. It would be great to see you and my Elmsford crew again.
