Mike is referring to the Phil Smith in Dallas, TX, not the well-known slot car retailer and builder by the same name in the UK.

We have received confirmation that Phil Smith of Irving, TX, has indeed passed away, either in April or May. No other information has been found or received, nor has an obituary been located.
