I recently had a couple motors returned to me that due to a shortage of "correct" parts I used what was available to me. I had a couple old Mura cans with various magnet setups in them. A couple had the can-n-a-can setup, a couple with the shims, and a couple with only the magnets. All of these were gonna be built using Champion endbells. The process started by gathering all the pieces that I would be suppling and then sending them to my builder.

Next the cans were cleaned up and received a little TLC.

Next the setups were ready for new hearts/arms.

Once everything was assembled the combination of parts provided me with a couple nice motors to use in future builds.

Stoo, what classes of slot cars have been recently popular in Australia? It's been a while since any Aussie race report has been published here. Is retro racing still being done at some of the raceways?

Hey Bill,.. :)

Yeah,.. Various types and classes and a Lot of Flexi's of Late,.. as well as Retro.

Things have changed quite a bit within the general Sydney region since the closing of the track at Waitara.

It had been around since the Mid 60's and was an institution and had existed through Thick & Thin,.. it is a great Loss :(

There is still regular racing at SSME (Sydney Society of Model Engineers), but it is a Club and whilst it Does have Open, Public events, they are Not every week.

https://www.modelpark.org.au/ ...... https://www.facebook...f=page_internal

https://ascra.com.au...wforum.php?f=44

The New track up the coast has good regular racing, but Not Retro.

Sadly, for myself, Both of the above tracks are over one and a half hours drive away, so is quite a commitment to attend a race and I have had some health issues of late, so have not been doing much racing  :(

All that said, there IS a major National Flexi and Retro event this Weekend at a great new centre run by a Long Time Aussie Slotter, Kim Axton, at a Track called Seagul's,.. actually IN the Local Football club, called Seagul's up near the border between New South Wales & Queensland,.. a great facility.

See here: https://ascra.com.au...opic.php?t=1695

Apologies for the brief, minor 'thread' drift :)

Stoo - yep, that track at Seagull is the one.  I couldn't figure out how to link it to my post.
