In today's mail was an Aurora Ford GT; it came off eBay and I didn't have to pay much for it.  :)  It looks to be in pretty decent shape. However...

 

...in disassembly for cleaning, etc, I noticed this "loose" wire end:

Does this mean it's a "dead in the water" armature? If so, I suspect finding a replacement shouldn't be too difficult...

you could solder it back to the comm tab

...and sure enough, that did the trick! :)

 

I had assumed (shame on me) that the wire had been attached elsewhere, but after your suggestion, I looked closer (with the help of my Optivisor) and saw where the "break" was.

 

It's running fine now; thanks again!   :good:
