​Order of the Day:
 
1. JK C-21 LMP (JK Spec) 
JK C-21 Chassis Only. May add weight on the top of chassis, motor bracket may not be cut off. Otherwise Stock.
JK Hawk 777, Top Secret Intimidator or RTR Raptor motor 
11/36 gear  64 pitch
Closed Cockpit JK or Kelly or RTR LMP body 0.10" thick min. Must be similar to JK LMP bodies. nothing with oversized spoilers or excessive fins allowed.  
Any non-weighted guide flag, any lead wires.
Must have stock (not adjustable) bushings   
3.25" rear track measured at the widest part.
 
2. Modified LMP
Any Commercially Available Flexi Chassis
Pro Slot Speed Ball or Top Secret Intimidator or RTR Raptor motor
Open gear ratio 64 pitch gears only
Any Closed Cockpit LMP body  0.007" or 0.10" thick 
Adjustable rear bushings ok
3.25" rear track measured at the widest part.
 
3. JK Wide Indy  
​JK C-35 chassis only. May add weight on the top of chassis, motor bracket may be cut off. Otherwise Stock.
Top Secret Intimidator or RTR Raptor motor 
Kelly, JK or Ralph Thorne Indy body only 0.10" thick 
11/37 gear 64 pitch
Independent fronts are ok 
Front Tires - JK T113F (or reasonable equivalent) .680 D by .250 W minimum
Adjustable rear bushing are allowed
3.25" front/rear track measured at the widest part.
 
If not specifically mentioned, TN Summer Heat Series rules apply.
 
All Races will be held on the Chris Dadds Reverse LTD. Braid Depth ~ .005".
 
This is posted to give everyone a heads up on the date and to mark your calendars. The organizers will release detailed event times and opening time and post an event flyer this week and post it in this thread.
 
TN OH GA NC SC and other area racers are invited to participate.
 
Final rules and time of raceway opening and tech will be posted this week when we make the flyer.

We want this to be a fun day of racing with inexpensive Flexi cars and motors.

Track will be open Friday, August 18th 4-9pm for test and tune.
Track is open Saturday, August 19th doors at 8am

 

JK C-21 Tech at 10am
Immediately following tech:
Qualifying
Racing

8 racers or less - random - no qualifying

FLEXI SUMMER SHOOTOUT results from 19 August 2023:

JK WIDE INDY cars set the tone for the day as Courtney Smith and Nick Farris raced to a same lap/same section finish with Nick getting the win by a car length. Nick also edged Courtney for fast lap (4.666) with Courtney claiming best segment (25). Mike Stephenson had a solid run for third.

 

 

 

 

JK SPEC LMP provided another same lap 1-2 finish. Dal Taylor decided to do a little LMP racing after a layoff of several months. He brought his car up to spec just a few minutes before tech then took the win and best segment honors (25). Nick Farris was our runner-up with Courtney Smith claiming third and turning fast lap (4.550).

 

 

 

 

"MODIFIED" LMP - (basically GTP cars with LMP bodies): Courtney Smith finally put together a complete race with no mechanical problems to get a close win over Mike Stephenson. In his first GTP race ever, Mark Trest held off Dal Taylor for third. Nick Farris suffered all manner of mechanical gremlins but, while running, managed to record fast lap (4.141") and best segment (27).

 

 

 

 

On September 16th, racers racers will have a wide variety of venues/classes from which to choose:

 

The Raceway - Cleveland TN: 4.5" GRC SPORTS CARS and JK SPEC LMP

 

ALPINE SPEEDWAY - Helen GA: FLEXI CHALLENGE cars.

 

ASHVILLE SPEEDWAY - Ashville, NC - 4.5" PRO-TRACK HARD BODIES.
