That's a beauty.
They call many old cars are classics but this is the true definition of a classic.
Such a beautiful design that will never go out of style.
It will always be beautiful.
Congrats.

Now all you need is some old lady to stick in the rumble seat to ride her around town.

I expected to see "Georgia or bust" written in white shoe polish on the doors.

Thanks for sharing your odyssey. Even updated, those old cars are a handful in more ways than one!

Enjoy every second of ownership of your new car, Greg. You have the perfect constitution for this type of automobile. Just as I would rather have a Bugatti T35C GP than a modern F1 car, all us "brothers on wheels" appreciate the history of the car.
When I was in high school, the only use I could see for a Model T, A, or B was as a hot rod. Since we all mature, I have come to love the cars as they were built. And to love driving them. I've seen this in you as well.

I'll assume the Hula girl made the drive more pleasurable, too.
If she wasn't glued to the dash rail, she'd already be gone.

When my town used to have a Wednesday night car show in town, I would sometimes bring my E-Type. (I would bring some of my other cars on alternating weeks). I always put a stuffed plush Jaguar toy inside on the dash. And invariably, it would disappear if I wasn't nearby.
One week a little girl and her mom stopped by where I was parked, and both patiently waited while I carried on a conversation with another Jaguar fan. Once I was done, the little girl came up to me, and told me she had seen a man take one of the toy Jaguars on a previous show night. I figured I might as well give away the one I had as lose it to some thief, so I gave it to her. She purely gushed, and that night remains the brightest moment I had at one of those shows.

Any guess who will be Greg's Hula Girl recipient?

She's glued down to the dash so firmly I haven't been able to remove her yet...

Well, you could just get her a habit.

Maybe go at it carefully with your hair dryer (not to be confused with your curling iron).

Mike, as insanely hot as it has been down here for about a month, I think the hair dryer might actually cool the thing off...

I like it hot, although 97 is a bit much. I was down there over the 4th of July week a few years ago, and it was 93 in the daytime. What got me was the humidity, and most of all, the mosquitoes. Never seen anything like it. And I've been camping where it seemed like the mosquitoes were trying to carry us away.

Taking a long distance road trip in an old car is another thing I always wanted to do, but just couldn't seem to make time to do it. The closest I ever got was a tour of the covered bridges in Indiana with the Austin-Healey Club in my 100/4. Would have liked to do the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour in a T-bucket hot rod.
Here's some people that did a tour half way across the country to drive an old Buick in a parade:
