This appears to be an Elva to me, although I could be wrong. It's a vac body and the nose area as well as the rear spoiler area both seem to be quite thick clear plastic, all molded into the body in one piece from what I can tell.  Any help with identifying what brand made this body would be helpful.  The chassis appears to be a Cox aluminum iso type, or something similar.

Hi there Ed, this is a Lancer brand McLaren Elva for comparison. You can see there are differences. So it is not Lancer. I will have to do more digging.

Given the sides that continue under the body, it might be a Detail Models Inc. version of the McLaren Elva - those were blow-molded and include complete underpans, which had to be cut out. Can't think of another brand that would have the sides extended under the body to this extent.

I'll see if I can dig up a photo.

Good spotting Don. I can spot the tell tale flash now you mention it, and I should have seen the "under pans" a dead giveaway. :victory:

Thank you Martin, Don, and Jairus for the comments and i.d. help. I'm not familiar with the DMI blow mold bodies at all, but they they seem to be well done. The thickness of the front and rear seems like a good feature for body strength. I don't have any other clear bodies like this one.  Will check the link you gave Don, thanks again.
