[Slot Car Rod]

I just completed this 1/24th scale slot car version of Pete Aron's Shelby Mustang GT350H from the movie Grand Prix.

 

I do not know what brand body this is.  It is beautifully painted and detailed.  The body is an eBay purchase.

 

 

Here it is with one of my 2014 proxy race entries.

 

Cardboard interior from a Mako Shark, I believe.

 

 

I used a Slot Car "Eng" chassis kit along with Dynamic pans for the chassis.  Paste flux was used for a period look.  

The motor is a Lenz 36D with a new endbell.

 

Ulrich wheels along with Paul's urethane tires are used.  The Dynamic pans keep the body stretched out.

Any more info on the "Eng" chassis? Never heard of them...

Nice car Rodney! The black & gold paint reminds me of the Mustangs Hertz used to rent out. I believe they had blue & white as well as black & gold ones.

The 1966 Hertz cars came in all of the Shelby colors and they all had gold stripes.

Don, the chassis kit came from the Ben Jones collection.  The brackets are well made.  Frame rails were pre-bent.  No additional information on the chassis brand.  Here are the instructions.

The bottom line on the tag reads SLOT CAR 'ENG.'. If ENG. is someone's abbreviation for Engineering, the company name might have been Slot Car Engineering. That name doesn't mean anything to me, but maybe it does to someone else.

I actually went to the big time movie theater to see Grand Prix in Panavison ? I still have the large full color program.
