My spell check function (which was much appreciated! ) has stopped working.
I can type a misspelled work like mispeled and keep typing the sentence without the misspelled word being underlined to alert me of my error.
Any ideas?

Mike, can you tell me where the on/off function for this forum's spell check feature is located?

Does your spellchecker work on different forums or with your email?
I don't see it in settings.

The Slotblog forum software does not have a spellcheck function.

Speaking of spellchecking... it is a brake rheostat not "break" rheostat. And it is a pot, which is short for potentiometer not a "pod" which is a group of dolphins.

neither of those would be fixed by spellcheck, because they're both words.

I was trying to be tactful by blaming spellchecking instead of insinuating they can't spell. I guess if they spelled it incorrectly they could pick out the wrong spelling in spell check? It is just that I see those words wrong everyday. The "POD" usage is probably not a spell check problem but more like a name that has been carried forward and repeated over and over again.
I guess I am just old and happen to use passe things like commas and periods when I write. I do try to catch myself when I end a sentence with a preposition once in a while. A racer once wrote me a very long email and it did not contain one comma or period in it. I asked him to add some punctuation to the email and then I would help him out.
With all the crap happening around the world spelling a word wrong is not exactly much of a worry.

Thanks for the replies. It seems to be a Google Chrome thing in my laptop. When I log into Slotblog using a different browser spell check works fine. I've searched and tried all the checks and fixes for Chrome I could find with no luck. There is an expert who has helped me in the past so I'll contact him.

On my phone, I get suggestions on close words.
IOW, I tried to to type in suggestions with 3 g's and it was corrected.

I'm with you, Jim. I always try to use correct grammar and punctuation. I don't always get it right, but I try. Maybe it's because I never got into the text message craze using just a numeric keypad?
I know a couple of people who make me cringe when I see an email of Facebook post that they've written. It's always one long, run-on sentence, all lowercase, no caps or punctuation, and usually with a healthy dose of text message abbreviations thrown in. It's enough to make your head hurt!
But you're right- In the grand scheme of things there are probably a lot more important things to pitch a fit about than spelling or punctuation...

Jason, those lower-case paragraphs with no punctuation or sentence structure could have been written by 5th graders.

AaronClarey (YouTube Channel) quite often comments about the awful grammar and punctuation of the letters he gets from his target audience (millennials, Gen Y and even Gen Z). He will read these *exactly* as sent to him and usually asks how they passed through school. He also asks how they can be so lazy that they don't read through and correct their composition.
I'm not perfect either but compared to the email I have seen I have a Doctorate in the English language and I "only" had a high school education.
